Subproject B03 Cutting

Machining in an XHV-adequate atmosphere creates new possibilities for the specific modification of surface and peripheral zone properties. This requires a basic understanding of machining in XHV-adequate atmosphere. The objective of the subproject is to understand the interactions between the ambient atmosphere of the machining process, resulting oxidation-related wear effects and the influence and adjustment of reaction products on the component surface.
