The pre project investigates how the contact resistance of Cu/Cu connections in hairpin stators for electric motors can be significantly reduced while simultaneously improving electrical and mechanical bonding integrity. The focus is on optimising the contact surfaces in order to achieve metallically pure surfaces with maximum interface contact. The increased conductivity and bonding quality should reduce winding and contact resistance, make material use more efficient and increase the overall efficiency of the motors. The project combines innovative treatment concepts with existing manufacturing processes to enable simple and economical integration into industrial process chains.
